FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Scottish Games Announces Dates
for 2003 Festival, one of largest in Southwest

(Tulsa) Dates have been set for one of the largest annual festivals in Tulsa and one of the largest Scottish events in the Southwestern United States. The 2003 Oklahoma Scottish Games will be Saturday and Sunday, September 20 and 21, 9 am to 5 pm daily, at Chandler Park in Tulsa, Okla.

The OSG&G, a 501c3 nonprofit, hosts one of the largest annual festivals in the southwest: last year more than 12,000 people from several states and countries attended the two-day celebration of Scottish tradition, ancestry, games, music, and fun. For single-price admission, attendees can enjoy all activities in the event including traditional competitions for pipe and drum and Scottish athletics as well as a variety of contests, a large children’s area, ancestry and genealogy information provided by Scottish clans. Food, souvenirs, and pony rides are available for purchase.

The festival opens Friday night at dusk with a traditional FIRE ceremony rich with Scottish heritage, pageantry, and music. The fun event, free and open to the public at Chandler Park, celebrates the coming together of Scottish clans and descendants to kick off the annual celebration.

Advance tickets are available from AAA. For more information call 499.2585, email info@tulsascottishgames.com, or go online at www.tulsascottishgames.com.
